Jibacoa Tennis December 2003

I couldn’t wait until May 2004, so I came back December 2003.
I do have to say the weather was BRUTAL. In 14 days I saw the sun about 4 times and I would have gotten a better tan on a ski hill….hahaha.

Even with cloudy weather we still had a great time at Jibacoa.
The first week of tennis was busier than ever before.
I believe since it was cloudy most people didn’t want to stay at the beach.
It was awesome to see so many people using the courts.

On Thursday (Tennis Tournament Day) we had rain in the morning.
Now, this wasn’t so bad since rain in Cuba only last for about 20min…hahaha.
We were delayed for about 45min. This time around I only gave t-shirts out to the winners, and we had a draw for 2 bottles of rum. Other prizes included tennis ball key chains and caps.

We had more sun in week #2. The Tennis Tournament was packed with players.
Everyone had a good time. I think next time I will give out CUBAN t-shirts, I’m running out of Jibacoa t-shirts…hahaha.

There are lots of pics from this trip. My favourite is the CRAB & BALL….it took us about 25min to get that crab to stay on the ball. My 2nd pick would be my Jibacoa Christmas Card.
We used a ladder, and it took 3 takes to make the picture.

We didn’t have enough tennis balls to spell everything out. I was able to bring it all together using my picture software.

Oh, there is a picture of Alberto & Kenia (Jibacoa Tennis Pros). They are great people and love the game of tennis.

Jibacoa Tennis April/May 2003

Hola Yason”, the first thing I heard when I arrived back in Jibacoa.
I was surprised that all the staff remembered me.
They pretty much remember everyone who stays at the hotel.

The biggest difference this time around was the weather.
It was more perfect than last time.
I believe we only saw one cloud in the sky in 14 days….hahaha.

I changed things up for this visit. I brought more t-shirts down for prizes, but this time the logo was in red. I also used chairs for targets on TOURNAMENT DAY.

The 1st week of tennis was great. We had lots of people for the Tournament Day (held on Thursdays). Using the chairs for targets kept the competition close.
At the end of the day everyone got a t-shirts for hitting something.

The 2nd week was full of fun. The place was packed!.
The one thing I noticed is that Jibacoa has a lot or “repeats”.
People have come back here 5,7 and even 10 times.

I guess when you find a vacation spot you can trust and not have worries about….why not come back.

Alright, here are a few pics of April/May 2003.

Jibacoa Tennis April/May 2002

Well, 2002 was my first visit to SuperClubs Breezes Jibacoa and it wasn't my last.
They say you don't forget your first...hahaha...I will always remember my first visit to Jibacoa.

My first week at Jibacoa was an adventure. I got a little sunburn and slept about 5hrs in 7 days. I met so many great people my first week and some are still good friends to this day.
The tennis was great the 1st week too. The big day for me was the TOURNAMENT DAY.
I surprised Alberto and kenia (Jibacoa Tennis Pros) when I showed them the T-shirts I brought for prizes. This was something "NEW" and they thought it was an awesome idea.
I gave away 6 T-shirts on Tournament Day.

The 2nd week I will always remember.
The tennis was booming, weather was perfect and I met lots of amazing people. I think I slept 2hrs in 7 days that week...LOL !!!.

The highlight of the 2nd week was the party at Santa Cruz.
A bunch of us went to this "Street Party" and it was unreal.
They had bands playing on the back of trucks and food stations everywhere.
I learned so much about Cuba that night.

Alright, here are a few pictures of my adventures.
